Icon314 xj 4wd drivetrain swap...

im swapping a 95 xj 4wd drivetrain into my 90 2wd xj. the problem im having is that the np231 transfer case has a wiring harness on it ( from the '95) and the '90 xj wiring harness has no plug for the t-case. what do these wires control, and how can i fix my problem? any input is appreciated.

THANX!

Yup, you just won't have a 4x4 light. I converted a 1995 XJ to 4wheel drive and that is the only thing that didn't work. Everything else worked great. Just swap the center console indicator over, add some light bulbs in there and stuff.

I also have a 95 cherokee 2wd and I was wondering if I'd be able to take the tail housing off of the 2wd trans and bolt up a t-case or do I have to swap for a 4wd trans? I'd rathger not trust a junkyard 4wd trans and no cash to rebuild one.

You can take a 4wd junkyard trans and swap the tailhousing/output shaft onto your 2wd transmission.
